Description: Chicago rapper Qawmane "Young QC" Wilson has reportedly admitted to being the mastermind behind putting together and executing a fatal hit on his mother last year. Details of Wilson reportedly confessing to his involvement have surfaced online this week.
A man from Chicago's West Side has been charged with masterminding the murder of his hairdresser mother to get money from her bank accounts and life insurance policies, the Chicago Tribune reports. Qawmane Wilson, 24, and two accomplices were charged this week with the alleged murder of Yolanda Holmes in early September. The deceased Uptown salon owner had more than $90,000 in her bank account, which Wilson withdrew a week after her stabbing and shooting death on Sept. 2, according to CBS Chicago. (Huffington Post)
Wilson and two other individuals were hit with murder charges Tuesday (December 24).
Wilson, who has his mother's name tattooed on his shoulder, according to the Chicago Sun Times, allegedly admitted to police that he had his mother knifed and gunned down for "financial gain." Police contend that Wilson hired Eugene Spencer, 22, to carry out the killing, station WLS reported. Lorian Johnson, 23, was arrested for allegedly driving the getaway car from Holmes' apartment. The trio was charged on Tuesday with murder and home invasion, DNA Info reported. Spencer faces the additional charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm, DNA Info reported. (Huffington Post)
The jailed Chicago native has made a name for himself as a hip-hop artist.
On various social media platforms -- including Facebook, YouTube and Instagram -- Wilson can be seen holding stacks of currency, being around expensive cars or wearing designer clothing. Wilson, who was arrested Sunday and charged with murder and home invasion, has thousands of followers on those platforms. In May, he posted a video to his YouTube account that has gotten more than 8,600 views and shows him "giving back to his fans." The video shows him hop out of a car in the parking lot of a West Side Chase Bank. He talks about withdrawing $20,000 "just to show people I'm on a whole other level with this." (DNA Info)
