Description: The game of football is played differently north of the border. But a strong wind can crop up anywhere. Montreal Alouettes kicker Sean Whyte found that out the hard way during a Canadian Football League semifinal game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this past week. While lining up a 22-yard attempt in blustery conditions, Whyte's try initially seemed to have more than enough air under it to split the uprights. But that was part of the problem. A heavy gust literally knocked the football straight down and missed hitting the crossbar by inches. Hamilton went on to beat Montreal 19-16 in overtime.
